Using the Atla Religion Database

TIP # 1

Be Persistent

  • Just because an article's Full-Text isn't accessible via ATLA, that doesn't mean it's unattainable. There may be a print copy on the shelf. Or the Full-Text copy is available on an external resource. When present, the Availability field in the article's record may link to its Full-Text.
  • When all else fails, put in an article request with inter-library loan. 


Link Resolver

Sometimes there is not a full-text download immediately available for an article.  A Link Resolver provides a direct route to an article by searching several OpenURL compliant sources at once.  In the example below, by clicking on "Full Text Finder," we are attempting to "resolve a link."  At MTSO, you can click "Full Text Finder" or "Search the OPAL Catalog," which will search the OPAL holdings.
